UDAIPUR, June 29(TIWN) : Whatever the State Health Ministry claims to be getting its control over the malaria epidemic the increasing number of death toll in malaria clearly suggests that the disease is still creating havocs in many parts of the state.
During the last 72 hours 6 more casualties took place in different parts of the Gomati and South Tripura districts. Even on Sunday another casualty occured in Tripura Sundari Hospital.
On Sunday at around 1pm a 9 year old boy namely Herendra Tripura ,S/O- Samsu Tripura of Rambhadra Para of Tirthamukh under Karbook Sub Division died of Malaria in Tripura Sundari Hospital. It is learnt that Herendra Tripura was suffering from fever since Friday. On Friday afternoon his parents took him to a near by Anganwadi Centre and there the health workers tested Herendra's blood and reported that Herendra tested FP+ve, the virus that causes malaria. In the afternoon Herendra got admitted in Natun Bazar Primary Health Centre. But his condition started deteriorating from Saturday night. In critical condition the doctors suggested his parents to take Herendra to Udaipur.
On Sunday Herendra's father brought him to Udaipur early in the morning and admitted him to the Tripura Sundari Hospital of Udaipur at 5 in the morning. But Herendra died at 1pm.
