Agartala, June 28 (TIWN): With the initiative of Group Centre, CRPF, Agartala a Free Malaria Health Camp was organized at Satyaram Choudhary Para Residential Higher Secondary School, Kathalbari (Upanagar) in Dhalai district, which is the worst Malaria affected area of the state where the disease claimed numerous lives.
The camp was organized with the special effort and initiative of DIG CRPF- Balaram Shil while other people including Bishnu Ram Reang, Vice Chairman, Visaketu Debberma and Chiranjeet Debberma attended the camp.
In the said medical camp, Senior Medical Officer of CRPF Dr Deep Sekhar Mohan and Dr Babul Roy were also present who supervised the Free Malaria Health Camp. During the camp free malaria tests were carried out and medicines were distributed to the positive personnel free of cost.
In his address, Balaram Shil said to the people of locality that he is very much worried about the prevalent situation in the Dhalai District and wanted to do something for them in order to help them overcome the menace. He also asserted that prevention is very important in fighting with such a dreaded disease and advised villagers/locals to take all necessary steps to prevent the expansion & outbreak of disease. He also distributed Mosquito Nets to the residents of locality free of cost for precaution against mosquitoes. Shri Shil called upon all the residents not to panic and take immediate medical advice in case of any symptoms of Malaria is seen in a person.
All the residents were thankful to CRPF and DIG Balaram Shil for organizing such a vital programme in the area at a time when the disease is creating havoc as an epidemic.
