KAMALPUR, Feb 3 (TIWN): Recently the time-line for digitalization of cable TV service in phase-IV got extended up to 31st March next. But the reality remained a bit different here at Kamalpur. Due to the autocratic attitude of local operator and the reluctance of administration, thousands of phase-IV consumers around the subdivisional town of Kamalpur lost their analog connection from 1st February. And now they got burdened with the set-top box.
The local main operator DDL Vision Cable Network authority informed that the analog telecast got stopped for phase-III areas. But in reality many of the phase-IV areas also got disconnected. And it got revealed that, the sub-operators did the autocracy to deprive the consumers of their rights and to make them to buy set-top boxes.
Now, the administration which claimed to keep vigil on the matter remained silent. And interestingly, the ruling CPI-M also got numbed up in the case of deprivation as some top leaders got their shares in the business. Now, who would remedy the illegal deprivation remained the question.
