AGARTALA, Jan 28 (TIWN): Disgruntled Tripura Employees Association (CPI-M backed) is all set to stage 7 hrs long protest drama on Sunday raise few strange demands, which is directly connected to the Pay-Commission’s implementation issue. Pay-Commission’s implementation was denied due to Manik Sarkar Govt’s employee deprivation policy. For the first time Tripura Employees Association is talking for State Govt’s rights, which is giving a signal for the possible implementation of Pay Commission in Tripura ahead of Assembly Election 2018. The long cherished dreams of all the state govt employees will be stressed during the demonstration including 7th Pay Commission, DA increment, diminish the gap of State-Central salaries. In this regard Association members are busy to announce about their protest schedules across the whole Capital City.

CPI-M backed Association members also urged the common men to join in this demonstration.

This event can give signal for 2 issues: 1) one is in the next Tripura Assembly budget session which is to be held on February 17; the Govt may announce a massive salary hike for the Govt Employees & 2) another may be the CPI-M Govt is trying to blame the Central Govt for every deprivations done to the Govt Employees, so that no affect would come on their vote banks.

But the protest schedule is quite confusing as on the one side Central Govt is allocating the full funds; but CPI-M Govt till day failed to provide the Central pay scale to the Govt employees. In this situation, announcing about the 7 hours long demonstration has created a confusion among the employees.

According to their demands :

  1. Pending DA gap should be diminished,
  2. To diminish the gap of Central-state salaries,
  3. To fill up the vacancies,
  4. To confirm 3 ACPs,
  5. The employees who were to receive the implement from February to January (2009), they should be given the increment etc etc.

In this regard, the question raising why such topics are raising ? Will Manik Sarkar and his Finance Minister provide the pay-scales at Central level form the next budget ?

Tripura High Court has ordered the state govt. to pay 31 % DA unless the govt. here doesn’t take any proper DA system and Pay Commissions implement. High Court Judge Subhashish Talapatra in a divisional bench announced it. Court has ordered to give the 31 % DA since 1/1/2009 to 27/8/2011, in 3 installments. So the first instalment will be started from 1/7/2016. By increasing 5 % DA for the pensioners and state government employees the difference between the state and central employees still remained at 42%.
