OTPC to get gas by Sept, NEEPCO to receive by Dec

AGARTALA, June 24 (TIWN): Executive Director-Chief Onshore Engineering Services, ONGC- Deepak Bakshi today held a review meeting with the LSTK contractors M/s KSS of Delhi to expedite the balance work of Konaban GCS and associated pipeline works here today.In the meeting, the Asset Manager said the Asset has been making all out efforts to supply gas to OTPC for commissioning Palatana Unit-II by September next and NEEPCO to commission Monarchak power plant by December next in open cycle.

During the meeting, a thread bare discussion was held, which was attended by Asset Manager-Tripura Asset VP Mahawar, senior executives of the Asset and onshore engineering group Delhi as well as the Joint President & his team of LSTK contractor (M/s KSS).

Sources said Mr. Bakshi was satisfied with the pace of the works and he has appreciated the cooperation ONGC is getting from the people of the state. He also assured all the support from the Delhi office to complete the job at the earliest so that more electricity could be generated.

In the meeting, Mr. Mahawar expressed its gratitude to the government authorities, police force, TSR & the people of Madhupur area for their support in laying long pending pipeline from Konaban to Nimbutali Junction through which gas supply will be supplied to OTPC and NEEPCO.

Earlier, Mr. Bakshi, the ED-Chief Onshore Engineering Services, ONGC was sent by CMD of ONGC Dinesh Kumar Sarraf to have first-hand review of the on-going projects at Tripura Asset.

The ED-Chief OES, Asset Manager and other senior officers of ONGC along with the contractors visited Sonamura GCS site at Khedabari, on-going pipeline jobs from NEEPCO to Khedabari and Gas Metering Station at NEEPCO-Monarchak yesterday. The team observed that welding jobs for about 5.5 km (of 10” x 10.5 Km) pipeline laying works from Sonamura to NEEPCO is already completed  but pipeline in submerged in water at many places .

Welding works were hampered due to heavy rains & water logging. It was also informed by the Asset Manager that HDD (Horizontal deviation drilling) works are to be carried out for about 500 m length, 5 m below the Gomati river bed to lay gas pipeline across the river for which resources are under mobilisation in consultation with M/s Engineers India Ltd. Later in the afternoon, ED-Chief OES has visited Konaban GCS, which is under up- gradation, where more than 90% of the job has been completed. He along with Mr. Mahawar and other executives has inspected each and every construction activities at Konaban GCS.
