AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): Doctors condemned over the brutal incident held at Gandacherra Hospital, where a junior doctor named Suman Sarkar was mercilessly beaten by local goons.

The incident allegedly was led by the local MLA's goons, when on Sunday at around 2 PM  MLA Lalit Tripura called one of the hospital’s doctors named Subhashish Dey and informed him about a patient.

However, informing about his leave Mr. Dey further transferred the case to Dr. Suman Sarkar and accordingly the MLA Lalit Tripura told Sarkar about the patient.

Following the incident 2 staffs named Litan Saha and Bhagabati Sarkar went out for the patient home but as per the MLA’s instruction the address was found wrong. However, the ambulance then reached the home of the MLA but guard told them that no patient is there at MLA house.

Atlast the ambulance returned back to hospital. After this incident the local goons beaten Dr. Sarkar mercilessly and also the MLA abused the doctor verbally.

After that although FIR was lodged immediately against those goons but police is observing just a silent role.

Although this incident created much turmoil among the Doctors, Nurses and other staffs there, but the left front backed Melarmath’s psychopath Doctor Unions are yet silent.They didn’t feel it necessary to condemn over  the incident.

As a result few junior doctors on Monday evening raised voice at GB Hospital and asked for necessary security for the doctors in coming days.
