AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): State CPI-M Secretary Bijan Dhar on Monday held a press meet at Melarmath Party Office.
Addressing the press meet Dhar said that in a move against the Modi Govt’s decision for demonetization CPI-M will hold mass protest from Jan 27th to January 31st. Along with nation-wide protest planned by CPI-M, Tripura will also observe the schedule.
The demands of the protest basically will be :
- As Dec 30th has already passed so people should be allow to withdraw money as per his / her wish,
- To help financially the farmers as they suffered due to demonetization,
- Increase MGNREGA fund,
- To compensate the deceased families who died in demonetization,
- The people who lost job during demonetization, should be given compensation,
- The people who are exchanging by cash, should be given discount,
- Preserve the rural banking system,
- To compensate the state govt for the loss due to demonetization,
- Cash-less economy can not be imposed on the state govt.
- To confirm commodities in ration cards of every citizens.
