AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): State CPI-M Secretary Bijan Dhar on Monday held a press meet at Melarmath Party Office.

Addressing the press meet Dhar said that in a move against the Modi Govt’s decision for demonetization CPI-M will hold mass protest from Jan 27^th to January 31^st. Along with nation-wide protest planned by CPI-M, Tripura will also observe the schedule.

The demands of the protest basically will be :

1. As Dec 30^th has already passed so people should be allow to withdraw money as per his / her wish,
2. To help financially the farmers as they suffered due to demonetization,
3. Increase MGNREGA fund,
4. To compensate the deceased families who died in demonetization,
5. The people who lost job during demonetization, should be given compensation,
6. The people who are exchanging by cash, should be given discount,
7. Preserve the rural banking system,
8. To compensate the state govt for the loss due to demonetization,
9. Cash-less economy can not be imposed on the state govt.
10. To confirm commodities in ration cards of every citizens.
