AGARTALA, Jan 12 (TIWN): Ram Krishna Mission celebrated National Youth Day on Thursday at Vivekananda Uddyan. The celebration marked the 154th Birth Anniversary of the patriotic Saint Swami Vivekananda.CM Manik Sarkar was present in the ceremony. CM paid tribute to the statue of Vivekananda with a flower garland.
Born with name-Narendra Nath Datta in an affluent family and raised in Kolkata, Swami Vivekananda died at an early age of 39. In his short span of life, he managed to inspire millions.
It was first declared by the Government of India in the year 1984 to celebrate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda as the National Youth Day. Since then (1985) National Youth Day is celebrated to inspire all the youths of country towards the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and his ideals.
