AGARTALA, Jan 10 (TIWN): Atleast 98 % blood collection is gathered by various blood donation camps, which occur in Tripura throughout the year, Tripura’s Commission for Women’s Chairperson Manika Dutta Roy said on Tuesday.

In a blood donation camp held in the premises of Tripura Commission for Women, she urged women to come forward in blood donation.

“Women are ahead of men in many works, why they will be kept behind in donating blood”?, said Roy.

This was the 2^nd blood donation camp held by Women Commission here after 2015. As a cause behind this, Dutta said that it’s due to various health problems, lack of hemoglobin among women.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was also present on that occasion.
