AGARTALA, Jan 10 (TIWN): Under the lameduck CPI-M govt the land acquisition for 15 KM Indo-Bangla railway tracks yet to begin from Agartala railway station to Bangladesh Ganga Sagar.

It was said that within January the acquisition will be finished, but unfortunately the Dist Administration is in slumber.

Asking the Railway Dept they also said that its upto the District Administration.

It’s  worthy  mention here that Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu laid the foundation stone for the Indo-Bangla railway project during the inauguration of the Agartala to Delhi, in the presence of Bangladesh Railway Minister Mazibul Hoque.

Modi Govt. had sanctioned Rs 1,000 crores for the mentioned project, which will kick off a connectivity flow between India & Bangladesh & it will be the first step to make Tripura Southeast Asia’s Gateway. The 15.06 km long tracks with connect Indian Railways with Bangladesh via Akhaura.

But now the project is delaying due to the govt’s negligence.
