KAMALPUR, Jan 5 (TIWN): “Sudden declaration of currency ban and the failure of Modi led Central governmnet to restore normalcy within promised 50 days have brought about endless troubles for maximum of the countrymen. The rural India which constitutes the lion’s share of our population get into dilemma.

They cannot avail their hard earned money from their bank accounts. Modi has failed to trace black money and now has started another saga of cashless economy.

And prior to the declaration and after it, the Prime Minister has continued to escape the parliament. As a result, the farmers are not getting fair price of their products, laborers of unorganized sector suffer due to the loss of jobs and several people have died in the queus before the ATMs and banks. Still, the plight continues.

And in this context, Congress has put forward six questions before the Prime Minister. Congress has asked him to declare the amount of seized black money, measures taken for the bereaved families, the names of the persons from whom the black money has seized, action taken against them etc. But, Modi has numbed up in that issue. Hence, Congress has taken up movement and it would continue until the real saga behind the declaration unearthed”, said the Congress leaders here at Kamalpur today. The leaders were addressing the party workers who gathered as a aprt of the pre-announced protest campaign against demonetization before the SDM office.

Before the protest a rally roamed different parts of the town. Then the workers gathered in front of the SDM office. There leaders like District Congress President Manoj Kanti Deb, PCC member Advocate Bijoy Krishna Chatterjee and others delivered speech. They criticised the decision of demonetization. The party would stage protest campaign in front of the bank branches on 9th January next.
