AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): The opposition Trinamool, CPI-M and other parties still struggling hard to gather supports against their Anti-Modi agenda issuing ‘demonetization’. In Tripura all the left front backed unions are holding protest against ‘demonetization’, whereas Congress has recently burnt PM Modi’s effigy. In their everyday speeches, the CPI-M Ministers, MPs throwing their heating comments against BJP led central govt’s attitude by fabricating the ‘pains’ of common people due to demonetization. Carrying forward her opposition to the Narendra Modi government, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to go to Delhi on Monday to be present at a meeting of the opposition parties on December 27, sources said. "She will leave for Delhi in the afternoon. On December 27, a meeting of the opposition parties is scheduled to be held there. She will attend the meeting," said a Trinamool Congress source.

Besides the meeting, Banerjee is likely to hold one-on-one interactions with a number of leaders, including her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal. Banerjee has been at the forefront of the protests against the Modi government's demonetisation of higher value currency notes, and even toured several states to drum up support for her stand.

But the opposition protest couldn’t achieve much success as they never wooed public sympathy. 90 percent Indians supported the step taken by Central govt. amidst much pains faced by them in the days of demonetization.

In this regard PM Modi has thanked the citizens for their extreme supports in ‘tough days’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked people for enduring the "pain" caused by the government's November 8 decision to spike 500 and 1,000 rupee notes that has caused an unprecedented cash crunch across the country.

"I congratulate people for not only enduring pain but also for giving appropriate answers to those who were trying to mislead them," Modi said in his monthly radio address to the nation 'Mann Ki Baat'.

The Prime Minister said people faced hardships and inconvenience but "answered back those who publicly tried to mislead them".

The move to recall 86 per cent of the total currency in circulation was ostensibly aimed at to curb corruption and black money in the country.

However, it has led to people in large number queuing up to withdraw or deposit cash in overcrowded banks and ATMs.
