AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M Ministers often blames the Central Govt. for slashing the funds under NHM / NRHM schemes. Recently Minister Tapan Chakraborty said in a programme at Agartala, “State Govt. has not so much money that it can run the full schemes. From tax to everything---l it’s the central govt. who has the source of all funds”. “What will happen if the Central govt. gives more money to NE states, if it is for people’s good?”. Tapan Chakraborty said all these just to prove that Central Govt. has not included the hepatitis vaccination in their national scheme yet. But Chakraborty was silent about earlier scams held under NHM schemes. State Govt corrupted officials who looted the central fund, although case was registered against them but now are roaming free with the shelter of the ruling party.

 It’s to  to be mentioned here that a special audit of accounts of NHM schemes between 2006 and 2014 which revealed that utilization certificates were not submitted in some cases. They had shown adjustment of about Rs 26 crore, but Rs 4.47 crore remained unadjusted despite repeated strictures. But police is very idle to further progress of this case. Rs 4.47 crore had been collapsed from 2006 to 2014 by  CMOs and medical officers in-charge (MOICs) in the undivided North district.  FIR filed against 12 Medical officials of North District CMO office and 5 Medical officials of Unakoti District CMO office including Former CMO Unakoti Dr. Dilip Das, Present CMO Dr Alak Dewan, Dr Subhas Barua, Dr. S.N. Chaudhury, Dr. Debashis Talapatra.

The FIR was lodged by the then NHM Director Sandeep Mahatme. But surprisingly he transfer then and also posted as the DM of North Tripura. The same reshuffle was done with Raval Hemendra Kumar in 2016 also, when he started to protest against various negligence in duty done by the govt. officials and sooner he was posted as the DM of Gomati Dist.  

Police ended with after seizing the documents. The case has become quite complicated after it was handed over with the CID. Presently, nobody knows about the real state of the case.
