AGARTALA, Dec 23 (TIWN): Whereas Tripura’s most sensitive border area at Sonamura remained unfenced taking more than 10 KM of area, but the CPI-M Govt here has failed to unlock the border there, even after ruling the state for long 23 yrs. But surprisingly, investing a lot the Govt has built an ultra modern town hall at Sonamura, which was inaugurated by CM Manik Sarkar on Thursday. Reportedly 39/ 41 Sq. Ft is the area of the hall which cost a lot with additional charges of modern equipment.

But this is the same area, via which the cross border smuggling are reported at the maximum, but the govt has no concern about all these problems.

However, it’s well known that at Sonmaura the room will be booked for many govt programmes as well as party campaigning, and that the reason the ruling govt is constructing so many auditoriums across the state. On Dec. 18 also Atleast 1000 KG Ganja was recovered from Melaghar on Sunday from a vehicle.

The bundles of Ganja recovery had created much tension here as one after one such smuggling cases are increasing via that portion of the border. But surprisingly, that incident didn’t bring any affect on Ganja / Drug business as these items are openly sold at various shops in town areas.

Especially the Sonamura, Melagharh areas are mostly victims of it.

On Dec 12 police held raid in various spots under Lefunga with an attempt to destroy Ganja cultivation. But when they went to demolish a garden, a group of local people came with household used arms. This is the way how the ganja producers operate fueled by local ruling party supports.

On Dec. 2 a vehicle was seized by Tripura police with 4 half dead cows inside it. Although police failed to nab the smugglers but vehicle has was recovered, which was to pass via Sonamura border. But after 6 days of passage Tripura CM in speech said, “A person hardly eats meat a day in a month, so restriction on Cow-slaughter?” However attacking the Chief Minister’s comment and his CPI-M party, Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said eating may be right but nobody has right for violating animal rights.

But very recently, Tripura DGP K Nagraj with a big smile declared that Tripura received no extremist threat in last 2 years, but he should know hiding things doesn’t excuse the duty of security forces.

One after one Nijerians are getting arrested in Tripura especially on Belonia & Sonamura area, but sitting in headquarter DGP is studying tables of crime rate of whole India.

In last 3 months atleast 6 Nigerians were arrested in Tripura. This time 3 have been arrested from Niharganj Bazar under P R Bari Police Station named : Anki Frank, Oke Basin, Sunday Noakun Bhechi.

Moreover, 10 Bangladeshis were also arrested from Rangamura Border area named : Ranjit Das (50), Rabindra Das (35), Kamal Chandra Das (30), Bimal Das (25), Kritish Das (30), Ajit Das (40), Rantu Chandra Das (50), Ajay Ch. Das (60).

In this situation the ultra modern town hall how much will bring red-revolution in that area, it’s to be seen.
