Agartala, June 15 (TIWN): Criticising the role of state government, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee president- Diba Chandra Hrankhawl after visiting the malaria affected areas today said that he is unsure about the reality of the government.
He said that Health Minister Badal Choudhury's helicopter trip to the malaria ravaged areas was nothing but wastage of public exchequer. DC Hrankhawl and PCC ST Department chairman Bimal Chakma visited the Chowmanu Sub Divisional Hospital to see the malaria affected patients who are undergoing treatment there on Saturday.
Following his visit, Hrankhawl met the medical superintendent of the hospital and enquired of the present health status of the patients. Speaking to media today about his experience in the visit, the PCC president said that the Primary Health Centre of Chowmanu is lacking with basic infrastructures without which medical services cannot be provided.
"The PHC has no sanitary facility. Moreover, scarcity of drinking water also prevails. The patients even the doctors, nurses and other medical staffs are suffering a lot. If hygiene is not maintained in a health centre, then no one can guarantee for a healthy life of a patient. I just want to know where the fund sanctioned for developing medical infrastructures goes?" said Hrankhawl.
He also raised allegation against concerned officials for not properly distributing mosquito nets to the patients in the hospital. Hrankhawl also highlighted the poor quality of road and blamed the government for not taking any initiative in improving the road.
