AGARTALA, Dec 14 (TIWN): Whereas DGP K Nagraj has boosted a lot about Tripura’s crimes’ tremendous downing rate, Governor Tathagata Roy said that after coming in Tripura, he first time heard about Phensedyl.
‘I thought phensedyl is related to the word ‘fancy’, but later I came to know it’s a cough syrup’, said Roy.
Police should aware the generation about the deadly affect of it in a proactive manner, said Roy, in a one day workshop on ‘Police-Public interference to combat crimes’ held at Bhagat Singh Hostel, Agartala.
It’s worthy to mention here that although phensedyl is banned but Tripura youths are higly target of it and it’s manufacture here as one 70 rupees phensedyl is sold at Bangaldesh in 1200 rupees, a very high official told TIWN after he had yearlong experience at Sonamura.
For example, festivity which has become almost like a lunatic party vacation for young generation, is using as the highest business period for a section of shop-keepers who not only sell only drugs, but they sell liquors (illegally) at double price especially after midnight.
Tripura’s drug trafficking duties, which are mostly given BSF are just not enough with the increasing rate of drug-business, as police in such cases have failed to down the smuggling rate and local manufacturing, TIWN reported.
