AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar led Tripura Govt and its finance Minister Bhanulal Saha finally woke up after 34 days of demonetization to call a Bankers meeting to address hardships caused by currency note shortages. As a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a cashless society to prevent corruption and to keep everything database, a state level bankers meet was held at Pragna Bhawan on Monday. However, no decision has been announced yet about the outcome of the meeting but the objectives of the meeting as per TIWN report from Pragna Bhawan, there were certain points of discussion as : 1) Demonetization ; which was done more than before 1 months and successfully many positive outcomes of demonetization has been observed, also truly some hurdles reported from the common people, 2. Small Notes ; which has come in the market already including 500 rupees notes but how to circulate them properly and how to diminish the cash-crisis in the market across the state it was also discussed, 3. Cashless society : Cashless condition would not only benefit Agartala,

Udaipur, Bishargah---but in each and every corners of the state awareness should be brought.

Along with that the overall scenario of the state including ATM Services were also reviewed.

In that meeting, renowned Banker K B Ramamurti, N P Tapno, Manas Dhar, Tripura Finance Dept. Principal Secretary GSG Ayyangar were present.

It’s worthy to mention here that when PM Modi took initiatives for note ban the opposition parties in Tripura had did lot of protest reacting which Modi said, "It (note ban) may test your patience for 50 days but believe me things will gradually become normal,".

A review said many persons have come to cashless transactions who never did earlier in their lives and this is the way that the Govt of India took an attempt to stop corruption with cashless condition.

However, Cashless transaction to kick off in Tripura Health Service from New Year .

With the Modi Govt’s initiative atleast people can raise question for transaction only by Debit cards. Apart from Hospital, already few CNG Stations are giving chance for the cashless transaction, which will be launched in petrol pumps also.

Now question arises how cashless transactions will diminish the corruption in the state.

There are various types of corruption: 1. Bribe, 2. Counterfeit Currency, 3. And other type of corruptions

1.     In India on road bribe in one year is about 2,200,000 million INR. It is the small part of corruption. There are many type of laws to reduce it. But government and system fails to stop it. There are many places of bribe, police station is on the top of them.

2.     Corruption is only possible due to low class banking system and cash economy. In India 98% of corruption exist only for due to cash system, says a data. This is the main advantage of cash that cash is not traceable. Cash also is not accountable. Cash cannot controlled by government. Cash can used easily in everywhere of country.

3.     E-transactions are safe, low time consuming and transparent. Government can easily trace overflow of money like corruption money or black money in someone's account. Government easily find out to the black money.

A source said that in coming days, all transactions above a certain amount cannot be made in cash. Instead, they must be made using debit cards, credit cards, checks, or bank transfers. This means that any large transaction can be traced. Further, large cash withdrawals or deposits should be disallowed. This means that one cannot draw large amounts of cash to make a dodgy transaction.

It is estimated that around 50% of Indians didn’t not even have bank accounts, and with Modi’s initiative all will come under bank-service atleast people will bound to learn banking.

Although CM Manik Sarkar said, he cannot be in the central committee for cashless transaction, but his own state will see a revolution in cashless transaction and hopefully corruption to be reduced a lot.

Manik Sarkar led State Govt chosen to remain in slumber to reap political benefits rather than calling a Bankers meet earlier after demonetization to help lakhs of Tripura people from daily miseries.
