AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Lawlessness gripped Tripura’s every nook & corner as various clubs disturbing mass population with high-pitch sounds on the pretext of religious festivals. Sighting an example, an hour-long protest was held by the Hindu devotees at Salbagan led by Salbagan Bazar Committee on Monday against police’s action for disrupting their religious activity using high sound mikes after night 12 AM. According to them, till day nobody disrupted in their works in that area, but yesterday without any announcement police stopped their religious practice all of a sudden. The programme was organized by Bazar Committee at there which had promised to abide by rules including noise pollution, but everyday they were playing high volume sounds whereas the students are facing examinations. Due to the blockade vehicle movement were disrupted there including airport roads. It’s worthy to mention here that after all when it come for celebration, rules fail to control the tortures done by the majority. As patients, old people belong to the minority, the noise pollution is a non-issue here.

Apart from Salbagan various Bazaar committees are now busy to show off their power,  stability to the society resulting dangerous noise pollution in the state.

Reportedly, police didn’t disrupted in that practice at Salbagaban until a local man had complained at midnight.

On the one hand the govt calls itself a secular govt. but on the other hand the same govt due to vote bank issues never interfere even in the unlawful activities of the citizens, which often affect the water purity of temples like Matabari.

There is no action taken against high sound boxes during day or after night 12 also.

According to the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, as amended in 2012, the noise level at market places between 6am to 10pm should be below 65 dB. However, a relaxation of 10 dB is also given under rule 5(4) of the same taking the upper limit to 75 dB for special occasions. Loudspeakers are not allowed after 10pm.

But question arises, who cares for all those rules? Who cares for if there is really some old people getting highly effected by loud noise?

Other than politics, Chief Ministetr and CPI-M leaders have no time for peoples miseries in 'golden' Tripura.
