Agartala, June 14 (TIWN): To push the plan for setting up a parking place near Hapania Mela Ground, a joint team headed by Engineering- in-Chief Sunil Bhowmik today visited two sites.

The team includes Engineer-In-Chief- Sunil Bhowmik, District Magistrate, West district- Abhishek Singh, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate- Manik Lal Das, the commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation- Abhishek Chandra and other high officials.

“We have visited a plot which is situated in the backside of the FCI Godown and another unfilled place near Tripura Jute Mill Ltd.  We have chosen an unfilled land which is situated in the back side of the Jute Mill Ltd for the parking lot and will send a proposal to the transport department very soon”, the DM said.  

“If the concern department accepts the proposal, then the government will take necessary steps to set up parking lot for Lorries. The Public Works Department (PWD) will implement the project”, said he on being asked.

On the other hand, the plan of widening the ONGC-SIPARD road also is in the pipeline. The Engineer-In-Chief- also visited the proposed sites for land acquisition.
