Aghore stresses on quality edu

Agartala, June 13 (TIWN): Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Aghore Debbarma on Friday stressed on quality education in schools and said that dearth of good people engaged in society building contributed to continued rise in immoral activities.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the State Kokborok Library at Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) headquarters in Khumulwng today, Tribal Welfare minister Aghore Debbarma said that the state government is attaching high important to developing quality of education in the schools. "There is much higher need of truly educated people in the society than academic degree organied scholars. The state's indigenous population lagged backwards in education owing to the once-acute armed insurgency crisis in the hilly terrains of Tripura. The problem was largely contained in the past two decades of Left Front rule. Much still needs to be done", the minister said.

The State Kokborok Library inaugurated today is a double storied building in a sprawling landscape with a fund of Rs. 1 crore 91 lakh 47 thousand. ADC Executive Mmeber Radhacharan Debbarma chaired the inaugural session while Chief Executive Member of ADC Ranjit Debbarma and others were present.

The new facility has got separate digital library room, stack rooms, librarians room, conference halls etc.

ADC Chief Executive Mmeber Ranjit Debbarma today said that the district council administration is stressing on expansion of education in the rural areas. He suggested students to grow the habit of reading beside textbook syllabi. Debbarma said that vested interests are trying to deviate the youths from constructive paths. "We have to ensure struggle against distorted culture", he added.
