Tripura Govt Depts’ award distribution programme creates controversy
TIWN

AGARTALA, Dec 8 (TIWN): A Dept. under any govt is generally considered for few particular works which have to be done under the changing govt policies, working methods and vision. But in Tripura CPI-M regime any govt dept means as the ruling party’s dept.

Earlier, the ruling party here was highlighted in govt programmes indirectly as by various unions--- who are although called neutral but there is no difference between the CPI-M Party member and unions activities. All the union members as TGTA, TUKC etc with the entering of the Chief Minister stand and gives red salute and raise CPI-M’s slogan.

But the matter of worry is that the departments which are means for public also occupied by CPI-M. From honoring a person with award to publishing someone’s book are depending upon the party choice.

In a programme which was dedicated for Dr B R Ambedkar and Iswarchandra Vidyasagar, instead of any other poet the Social Welfare Dept. for other communities had chosen CPI-M former Minister Lt. Anil Sarkar’s poem to dedicate to the great souls.

Moreover, Social Welfare Dept. didn’t begin the programme till 2 hours, just because the Minister had not been arrived.

The most controversial issue is that 2 persons were chosen as the Vidyasagar Sociocultural award. They were : Naresh Chandra Paul and Binoy Bhushan Bhowmik. But unfortunately both of them are closed to CPI-M circle. Skin Doctor Dr Binoy Bhushan Bhowmik whose visit is Rs. 200/-  has been chosen for the award.

Reportedly, the man never does any free medical check up, including health camps also.

However during the programme Bhowmik boosted about himself by dedicating many lines in his own praise. “Other’s sorrow makes me  cry, other’s happiness makes me happy. Till day people come from Bangladesh, NE for checkup them from me. Before few years the Gwahati HC Chief Justice visited me to take some medical advice…. such a trust can not be built easily”.

Minister Bijita Nath said in his praise, people like him are symbol of Godliness. He could have easily make money without serving the society but because of his nature he was selected for the award.

This is the same Dept.under which bundles of scams, corruption held. Example are many, but even one has not to go far but just before 2 moths the nursing student admission scam which held under Education and Social Welfare dept. it deprived all the students of Tripura to read outside the state in nursing courses.

Although Central Govt. under its 100 % scholarship project has opened golden chance for any number of selected students for Higher Education, but Tripura Govt. out of 3000 students have only selected 348 students for B.SC nursing scholarship. However, calculation of selection procedure is not so easy, but it was fully controlled by few brokers, who select who will study and in which college the selected students will study.

Last year also same thing happened when a huge number of students led by Minister Bijita Nath reached out to Fake colleges, creating chaos & huge resentment at guardian level. Tripura Chief Minister’s ‘clean’ image has been sprayed with dirt when opposition party disclosed how Tripura SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minority Welfare Dept is spoiling the future of Tripura’s bright students under massive corruptions.

Recently after the incident TMC leader Sudip Barman said, the needy students can not give donation to the Education business brokers. “Tripura Govt. didn’t follow any rules for merit, needy in selection procedure. Fooling the guardian, showing high demands for Dustbin Colleges, which even do not have any own Hospital, the CPI-M Party backed brokers have grabbed Rs. 1 lakhs from each of the candidate families”, Barman Claimed.

So, this is all about Social Welfare Dept in Tripura, which gives awards just to a section of selected persons and whereas Doctors are giving with awards, the future of students are on risk under Medical science.
