AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): A solar plant with 6 MW power generation capacity is likely to begin at Gandacherra, power minister Manik Dey informed on Monday.
This solar plant will serve the whole locality there in remote region. Especially for the hospitals the plant will be helpful.
1 MW will serve at night, whereas the 5 MW will be served during daytime, Dey said.
As Gandacherra is an interior area, thus the area mostly suffer from power crisis and with that solar plant no power shortage will remain there’, he said.
Already at Palatana OTPC under ONGC, NEEPCO such initiatives for solar based power surplus are taking’, he said.
Tripura is majorly suffering from power shortage, and power production has been deteriorated due to water crisis, so govt planning for solar plants.
