AGARTALA, Nov 28 (TIWN): Resentments brewing against the CPI-M in Tripura due to frequent ‘bandh culture’ snatching poor peoples one day’s income even though it claims itself as the ‘Poor Peoples’ Party'. CPI-M has been ruling over the state since 23 yrs with the votes of majority of poor people, but now the same people are disgruntled against the communists. Public anger was much visible on Monday early morning, when the poor people especially the daily wage workers, rickshaw drivers were running in search of passengers to earn their daily livelihood. Swapan Das, a rickshaw driver told TIWN correspondent, “This is nothing but a kick upon the stomach of the poor peopleâ€. Surprisingly he added, “Whatever Indian Govt had decided, it cannot be changed. In the middle we are the victims of political vendetta ( CPI-M’s anti-demonetization) driveâ€.
However, even a rickshaw-puller understood the benefits of demonetization drive, ‘Modi’s decision will not change on currency’ but why the CPI-Ms day-dreaming for their black money becoming white?
He added, “Whatever the Govt decided was a correct decision. The people who have black money they are shouting only”.
It’s worthy to mention here that around 90 to 95 % people are in support of Modi’s decision and most of them are poor people. But politicizing the issue the left front govt has kicked their bellies for a day.
Even Congress also didn't support the strike calling it an unnecessary harassment to the common people.
In the crisis time, when the country is suffering from cash crisis; was it so much important to rule over the decision of Central Govt. Question raising, 'CPI-M's fight is with centre, but the poor people have done here wrong that their one day meal is snatched by the ruling party, just because they are in power?"
TIWN visited the all across the Agartala City, and everywhere poor people were found in search of works. Whereas the rickshaw drivers are roaming in search of passengers; the labours are sitting outside on the road, without any work. For a day many families to pass in hunger without any food, TIWN reported.
Whereas only banks are opened, but this has proven only helpful for middle class and high class people. The people who lives by daily earnings are majorly suffering due to the strike.
