AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): Tripura has said the ‘Last Goodbye’ to the great martyr Shambhu Satmura, who lost his life to fight against Pakistani militants. Gloominess has gripped the Pratapgarh area after the deadbody of the only son of a family havildar Shambhu Satmura was arrived. He became martyred during the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Nov 23rd. Tripura BSF (107 battalion) jawan, Satmura, 34, was patrolling along the border in the Jamia Wali Gali area of Poonch district when a mine, laid by the Pakistani army on a slippery slope, exploded, killing him on the spot. Satmura joined the BSF in 2007 and is survived by his father Lt. Shibcharan Satmura (65) mother Beena Satmura (62) elder sister Sima, younger sister Mousumi and wife Shipra Satmura, whom he married four years ago.

The family members broken down into tears to see the coffined body and his wife was screaming to see the body. 

Tripura police, BSF were present there and politicians as Birjait Sinha (Congress), Biplab Deb (BJP), Sushanta Chowdhury (TMC), Minister Ratan Bhowmik and many other leaders reached to see him. On Nov 23rd , the commandant called and informed the family that Satmura had been martyred in a mine blast.

Satmura's father Shibcharan had also been a BSF jawan, who is also a martyr. 

Interestingly, at the small alter in the corner of the house, alongside Hindu gods and saints, there was a miniature mazar of a Muslim peer (holy man). Seeing the quizzical looks on the faces of some media persons, Beena said: "The peer sahib was deeply affectionate towards my husband and had appeared in a dream to him and asked him to set up his mazar on the pedestal. We pray to him also."

His wife is to get Rs. 25, lakhs and also a job. The pension to go to his family. Shabhu has 2 sisters and was the only son.
