Agartala, June 10 (TIWN): NEEPCO has always accorded top priority towards the all round development of the people residing in and around its operational areas. As a part, the Chairman and Managing Director of NEPCO- PC Pankaj visited and handed over a cheque for an amount of Rs 85, 00, 000 to the Chief Minister of Tripura at civil secretariat, here today.

Notably, NEEPCO contributed and amount of Rs 85 lakh as one-time financial assistance for the construction of workshop and cost of tool and equipment for two trades namely Building Maintenance and Dress Making in connection with up-gradation of ITI, Boxonagar under CSR scheme during the fiscal 2013-14 against Tripura Gas Based Power Project (TGBPP) of Monarchak, Sonamura.

The corporation has also undertaken various community needs under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development Scheme (SDS).

In addition, NEEPCO allocated an amount of Rs 22, 54, 517 against TGBPP, Monarchak in Sonamura and Rs 32, 49, 123 against Agartala Gas Turbine Project of Ramchandranagar for the implementation of various schemes under Corporate Social Responsibility and SD Scheme during the financial year 2013-14.

As in earlier Years, meritorious scholarship were awarded to the economically backward eligible students of the state of Tripura under the CRS scheme for which an amount Rs 5, 16, 000 against Tripura Gas Based Power Project, Monarchak in Sonamura, and Rs 5, 76, 000 against Agartala Gas Turbine Project, Ramchandranagar was allocated by the CRS Scheme during the fiscal 2013-14.
