AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): After BJP has emerged as the 2nd opposition party in Tripura, BJP state president Biplab Deb declared that Amit Shah has greeted BJP for its continuous growth in Tripura.

Amitbhai Anilchandra "Amit" Shah (born 22 October 1964) is the current President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Shah was elected as an MLA from Sarkhej in four consecutive elections: 1997 (by-election), 1998, 2002 and 2007. He is a close associate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and held a number of portfolios in the state government during Modi's tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. He is the MLA from Naranpura, elected in the 2012 elections.

In a press meet BJP State President said that in compare to Amarpur Bi-election more 10 % votes were increased this time.

However, BJP state president told TIWN that BJP’s growth has been simulateneously here in Tripura, although it’s ‘Only 2 yrs of Modi Governance’, but the Modi craze which changed the Government at Assam will also bring many effects in Tripura 2018 Assembly Election.

‘It’s true that Modi Govt came in power just before 2 yrs, but from that time, BJP is becoming widely popular in Tripura, the beginning of which was started by 5 Panchayats’.

Deb further said, ‘In ADC Election earlier BJP didn’t submit nomination paper also, but it powered by 9 % vote last time, which was also considered as the 2nd position. Then a bi-election was held at Pratapgarh and Surma and BJP emerged as the opposition party there’.

‘Surprisingly in local body election among 20 seats BJP came out with 14 % vote and 12 seats altogether’, he added. Deb stressed on the Amarpur bi-election which held in February and claimed that with 24 % and 30 % BJP growth was followed and 3.2 % vote only remained for Congress. Then Village committee election also with 5 and 10 seats BJP did excellent, he added.

Now with the 10 % vote increasing in Bi-election, BJP President expressed further satisfaction on Tuesday.
