KAILASHAHAR, Nov 22 (TIWN): The Nilmohon Smriti Colony which comes beside the national highway of Kailashahar-DharmanagaR, atleast 10 minority families are residing over there. Reportedly, the locals' lands were taken by the state govt for the sake of the Dist Hospital construction and in exchange, they were given land on a Tilla on the opposite side of the road.
As per the words given to the desheltered locals by then Health Minister Tapan Chakraborty; they were to be provided with homes under Indira Gandhi Awash Yojna, in addition of electricity, sanitation and other facilities but till day nothing has been provided to them, which has created much resentment among the people there.
TIWN visited the area, where the path which connects the Tilla and the main road was found no more.
The poor families are mostly suffering from that problem; as no electricity, no drinking water facilities are there.
Although earlier through motor the water was provided but now it has also been stopped there and getting homes under Indira Gandhi Awash Yojna has become a far dream for the villagers.
