AGARTALA, Nov 18 (TIWN): In order to empower Consumers on internet safety, Mankind Awareness Platform, Agartala in Partnership with consumer Voice and Google has organized “Internet Safety Workshop” at Press Club here on Friday.

IT Director and Commissioner of Sales Tax, Debapriya Bardhan, Govt of Tripura graced the occasion as a chief guest which also has enrich with consumers, consumer groups, civil society organizations, students from NIT, ICFAI and others colleges and faculty and faculty members.

Addressing the press meet, experts said that in the era of E-Commerce, E-booking, E-transactions there is a growing need for greater awareness on how to make the internet safe for users.

However, there is also need of security so that it can be used with confidence and trust.

Consumer VOICE with support from Google took initiative to provide training and information on online safety tools available and to share knowledge on various online security aspects across India through network of Voluntary Consumer Organized.
