AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): Demanding the withdrawal of the termination of 156 laboratory assistants by the state government recruited under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA) the deprived youths led by ‘All Tripura Discontinued Youths’ smacked Agartala City on Monday. A rally led by those 156 discontinued staffs began from Rabindra Bhawan on Monday morning and then they placed sit and demonstration at Astabol for hours. Few protesters broke down in tears and said, ‘Why no alternative job has been given to us by the state govt here?’ One of the protesters told TIWN, ‘It not our failure also the state govt’s failure?” Reportedly even after begging for alternative jobs Tripura Chief Minister is silent in this issue and he escapes from the case saying that the problem and deprivation was done by the central govt, but not by CPI-M state govt.

They also demanded justice to the RMSA workers & for the re-appointment of the teachers. Discontinuation of govt jobs has become a part of Tripura and due to the wrong recruitment policy the jobs of the youths have no guarantee here.

On Oct 3 the deprived  RMSA teaching staffs whose jobs were canceled due to the wrong policy adapted by the state govt. of Tripura met Tripura CM Manik Sarkar & urged him to take them back into job.

But CM simply dumps all the blames on the Central Govt and told them,  “This is totally a matter of the central Govt. and the state govt has nothing to do with that.

Still I will look after the matter”. But till day Manik Sarkar couldn’t manage time from his busy schedule resulting huge resentment among the youth. Whereas for 10,323 teachers state govt is fighting at Supreme Court, but no help has done to the RMSA staffs, who also lost their job in a similar way.

Reportedly, the ruling Left Front government have terminated 156 non – teaching staff of Rashtirya Madhyamik Shiskha Abhyjaan (RMSA). A notice of their termination was issued to them by RMSA Mission Director P. Goyal. The notification stated that the centre have stopped funds for all the terminated non – teaching staffs.

The left front government always claims that they will stand by them in future on time of crisis, but the termination of 156 lab assistant and LDC of RMSA sent a message to other centrally sponsored project that the left front government will not take any responsibility in case stopping of funds from the central.

Allegedly, the state government is solely responsible for the termination of non – teaching RMSA staffs.

Question raised that No staffs are terminated anywhere in the country, then why will the centre has terminated only those 156 workers in the state.

Reportedly, the central government is sponsoring other states and are giving them regular pay structure by inducting them in education department, why such unfair treatment to the RMSA workers of Tripura. In neighbouring state Assam all temporary RMSA staff is regularized, whereas, state left government going against the tide have got them terminated.
