AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): A lifeless situation has triggered resentment against the banking service of Tripura on Saturday, which was to be dedicated for the extra 6 hours care to the customers. Reportedly, lack of cashes for money-exchange has hit many private banks and the customers are left with no other option but moving to Govt banks. TIWN visited few private banks at Agartala, 100 rupees notes were observed. 'The situation will be in control within Sunday', said a banker to TIWN. However, taking this opportunity of poor banking and ATM services the political opposition leaders are blaming the central govt. for its decision, whereas it has been said that ‘No Shortage’ of currency will be felt by the customers. Via SMS banks told the customers that their ATMs would be opened from Friday, but literally the plan has failed here, which generated anarchy in Agartala. More or less in every subdivisions the situation is same. In most of the places people are bound to wait before the long lines at State Banks. The situation which was bad on Friday has been worsen on Saturday, TIWN reported.Reserved Bank printed notes although was said to be continued well, but the old notes of Rs. 100 are really lacking.

The usual non-workable condition the ATMs at Agartala are the chief reason behind such a disorder, resulting a huge rush of customers before banks. However, a very little number of ATMs worked for a time on Saturday but public were found to run from one ATM to another in search of money.

On the other hand, thousands of persons queued up outside banks at Agartala from Friday as banks opened for the second day after currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 were demonetised.
