AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): Crisis has become a part of Tripura in left front era, as after petrol the LPG & Kerosene crisis are hitting the public here. During petrol crisis time people came on road in protest which had hit the cabinet, but unless & until the LPG is not creating riot in state, the ministers would not wake up. Recently, report revealed that as Northeast does not have LPG pipeline network, thus supply of LPG is made through road transportation; but for Tripura the blackers or the brokers are looting the public with double or triple price.Taking the opportunity of the govt’s silence the black marketing has spiked up like anything.Along with LPG, the black marketing of kerosene is also hitting the state. Tripura is reeling under tremendous LPG crisis since few months, which has created much resentment among the common men.

The LPG crisis has hit the black-market also.

Unbelievable but true TIWN was informed by secret sources that in LPG black-market the price has gone upto Rs. 3000/-. The rate is getting up-down from Rs. 2200/- to Rs. 3000/. On the other hand the backlog problem of LPG & generating resentment among the common mass, has hit the cabinet also. Reportedly, already the state govt has written a letter to IOCL-MEA & also demand raised by Tripura Govt. that using Bangladesh land, the LPG should enter in Tripura.

But public alleged that the state government is not taking proper initiative to control the situation. The huge number of black marketing of LPG cylinder is the chief reason behind acute cooking gas shortage in the state, a customer told TIWN.

Black marketers of domestic cooking gas cylinders seem to have devised new ways to carry out their activities, despite the introduction of the modified direct benefit transfer scheme for LPG. On the day of Saptami, whereas people were celebrating puja, a large section of public were found blocked road, protesting at Capital City in demand of LPG.

Tripura suffered a long from Petrol crisis but now people are unable to cook also due to the mentioned problem.  The gas agencies allegedly are doing excessive business with the black-marketing net across Tripura.

Many food-shops are getting closed, due to the crisis. As a result anarchy has created all over the state in demand of cooking gas.
