TIWN Oct 22, 2016

AGARTALA, Oct 22 (TIWN): Marking of Mizos to begin from November 2nd, TIWN reported from Kanchanpur after the successful meeting was held between Tripura & Mizoram officials. A meeting held on Mizo repartition between Miroram Officials & Tripura Officials at Kanchanpur, North Tripura. In that bilateral meeting 3 DMs from North Tripura, Mamith Dist (Mizoram) & Kalashir Dist(Mizoram) attended.
However, nothing was clear about the meeting’s decision as all plans of Mizo reparation suddenly seems failed after the meeting ended at Delhi, where reportedly it was said the reparation may delay for more 2 / 3 months. Uncertainty of repatriation of tribal refugees to Mizoram was much evident a high-level meeting at the Union Home Ministry in Delhi, officials. Earlier North DM said that the reparation is sure on November, but with that meeting held at Delhi again doubt raised regarding the issue. Sources said that Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) for repatriation of the refugees, chaired by Union Special Secretary (Internal Security) Mahesh Kumar Singla, Mizoram government officials wanted to start the repatriation from January next year instead of pre-scheduled November as the Union government urged.
But now doubt decreased as a high official from North Tripura, who was present during the meeting said that the marking of Mizo reparation will be continued from Nov 2nd to Nov 20th and they after marking will be shifted from Tripura to Mizoram in 2 / 3 steps and finally the 41,000 Mizors to be re-parted as per the procedure.
The 20 years old Mizo repartition issue which have crossed more than 2 decades, without any permanent solution, under the UPA at Centre and the Communist Era in state, finally received a better shape, after the last successive meetings between Satyendra Garg, the Joint Secretary of MHA with both Tripura & Mizoram Govt. Presently the work on Mizo repartition from Tripura is undergoing in full wave, although in Tripura Govt.’s side all works are completed.
