Agartala, June 1 (TIWN): The Sadar sub-divisional administration led by SDM- Manik Lal Das recovered 22 sacks (11 Kg) of unlawful rice from a tipper auto around 11.30 am at under Srinagar police station, this morning.
Based on secret information, Sub Divisional Magistrate- Manik Lal Das, Assistant Director of Food Department- Susanta Banerjee and Food Inspector- Subrata Saha followed a tipper auto bearing the number- TR01-Q-1934 from Maharajganj Market. While the vehicle was proceeding towards Anandanagar, they stopped the vehicle at Sonali Sangha of Malaynagar area. During the search, altogether 22 sacks (1100kg) of rice were recovered from the vehicle.
Later, the SDM handed over the driver of the vehicle- Abdul Hasim Bhuiyan, a resident of Resham Bagan area to the Srinagar police station. The vehicle was also seized. A specific case has been registered at the Srinagar police station.
