AGARTALA, Oct 22 (TIWN) : Three convicts escaped from fortress kind newly constructed ‘Bishalgarh Jail’ on Friday evening seriously raising the questions about Manik Sarkar Govt’s seriousness in dealing law & order in a State where corruption money can buy any criminal’s ‘freedom’. Tripura police being blasted from all corners for their lackluster attitude in filing proper charge-sheets and failure of police dept under lameduck DGP K Nagraj who himself was chargesheeted by CBI in 2007 for various scams. State opposition leaders from BJP, TMC, Congress while talking to TIWN mentioned that the present ruling govt. as well as the Police dept. both are sheltering criminals as Bimal Chakraborty, Sushil Choudhury by not submitting any strong charge sheets against the criminals. As a result, accused murderers like Sushil Choudhury or MGNREGA scamsters like Bmal Chakraborty are enjoying freedom even the after various crimes.

It is to be mentioned that, Sushil Choudhury who was accused of murdering 3 persons, even police collected evidences but successfully police hidden all the key evidences from charge sheet to save criminal. Due to police’ failure in submitting strong charge sheet, High Court had no option other than releasing Sushil after finding him ‘not-guilty’.

Question arises, why CPI-M Govt didn’t appeal the case again in Supreme Court or appealed for re-judgement of the case of Sushil Choudhury?  Tripura police did same with the Rs 51 crore MGNREGA scamaster Bimal Chakraborty case.

Deliberately Tripura Police under DGP Nagraj failed to submit charge-sheet within 180 days which caused Bimal to go scot-free out of jail. After Bimal and Sushil’s release in high profile cases due to Police failure points to suspicious money transactions in Govt and Police higher-ups to hush up the high-profile cases.

Either common men’s lives got no value to the poor people’s govt. or Manik ruled govt. doesn’t wish to interfere in high profile cases as CPI-M party needs money from scams.

Scamster Bimal Chakraborty belongs to a powerful CPIM family and close to Manik Sarkar. Bimal’s brother Amal Chakraborty is CPI-M youth wing DYFI’s Secretary. Another brother Kamal Chakraborty is SP-Security looking after Chief Minister’s security and eldest brother Shyamal Chakraborty is a Chemistry teacher in Calcutta University who is proposed to be Vice Chancellor of newly coming Tripura state university.

Similar way, police did with the Kalpana Das murder case where CPI-M leader MLA Jiten Das was the prime suspect.

However, it’s to be mentioned here that one after one crimes are being accomplished in the state by various party leaders and officers, but due to some unknown reason the criminals are getting released as police cannot file any strong charge-sheet for conviction.

On Nov 27, 2015  CPI-M leader Manoranjan Acharjee had performed  heinous crime against the 8 year old girl but CPI-M tried its best to save him till elections are over. When CPI-M understands that they cannot hide the matter anymore so they immediately suspended him from the party to fool people across State.

Tripura Police Dept failing in nailing criminals due to weak investigation and poor chargesheets under scam tainted DGP Nagraj. CBI Filed chargesheet against IPS officer .Nagraj Kasinadhuni on March 29, 2007 for  amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Prior to that CBI had registered the disproportionate assets case against him in 2005, filed  FIR. CBI on March 29,2007 charge-sheeted Mr. K. Nagraj for possessing assets 500 times more than his known source of income.

Nagraj, an IPS officer of the 1983 batch of the Manipur-Tripura cadre, was charge-sheeted along with his father and brother in the court of the Special Judge, Hyderabad, for possessing assets in his own name as well as in the names of his family members. Investigations by CBI revealed that during 1978 to 1997, the officer had acquired assets and incurred expenditure to the tune of Rs 83.42 lakh against an income of Rs 13.24 lakh from all his known sources of income.

“The officer was found to have possessed disproportionate assets to the tune of over Rs 70 lakh during the period that is to the tune of more than 500 per cent compared to the known sources of income,” said G Mohanty, spokesperson of CBI in 2007.  CBI case against Nagraj is still in motion even though so called ‘clean’ Chief Minister decided to hand over Tripura Police Department to one of the most corrupt IPS officer in country.

Golden Era’ of communist Chief Minister Manik Sarkar continues where any criminal can get away with cash donations.
