Agartala, May 30 (TIWN): Assessing various development programmes of Forest department, a review meeting on was held at administrative campus of Khumulwng.
Executive member of Forest Gajendra Tripura presided over the meeting. Higher official of Forest department Sushil Debbarma, forest officers of three divisions and rangers of different ranges remained present there in the meeting.
During meeting Executive member of Forest department Gajendra Tripura appealed to go forward by performing proper responsibility. He said that the staffs should perform their duty properly. In the meeting, the officials informed that 163 hectare of bamboo plantation was implanted with the initiative of Forest department.
Besides, nursery of bamboo plantation worth Rs 5.3 lakh, plantation of bamboo sapling beside road up to 5 km, nursery fencing and 9000 gallon overhead water tank constructed by the department. An amount of Rs 1.67 crore was spent for the purpose including West, South and North division.
Besides, in the meeting, it was decided to build up 165 hectare bamboo plantation with initiative of the department. Moreover, bamboo nursery of Rs 2.10 lakh and nursery of different plantation at a cost of Rs 1.45 lakh will be made. An amount of Rs 82.70 lakh will be spent for the purpose.
