AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Noise pollution which hit the normal lives of senior citizens, sick and old people—now with the ending of Puja Celebration they will get much relief. The young generation who celebrate the puja with high sound boxes, although means a lot ‘Happiness’ to them, but for a minority section it is very affective. Tripura has 1000 people who are more than 100 years & 2.5 lakhs of senior citizens------- they all are known as ‘makers of the society’. But due to the negligence of Police, and administration towards the sound pollution during festive season, the backbone of the society suffer a lot. Many rules are prescribed before Durga Puja, but when celebration matters everything, those rules fail to control the tortures done upon the Minor section of people.Clubs are now competition of nose pollution—who can acquire more area with high volume ! In many areas, there are more than one club resulting 2 / 3 sound boxes from different clubs are hitting the normal lives of common people.

But no action taken against high sound boxes during day or after night 1 AM also.  However, after Dasami also orchestras to be organized for 2/ 3 days next  in many clubs.

DGP K Nagraj however, already said in a press meeting to go for “Mutuality” ! So now it can be understood, what is the condition of law & order of the state.

Ahead of Durga Puga officials of the State Pollution Control Board get busy ensuring that the noise pollution levels do not exceed the specified levels.

According to the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, as amended in 2012, the noise level at market places between 6am to 10pm should be below 65 dB. However, a relaxation of 10 dB is also given under rule 5(4) of the same taking the upper limit to 75 dB for special occasions. Loudspeakers are not allowed after 10pm.

However, puja ending although brings tears to peoples’ eyes but the positive side is it will give relief to the Back-Bone of the society.
