AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN):Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar, reportedly issued instruction to bureaucrats stop misuse of public money while speaking in the review meeting of implementation of funds received from 13 finance commission held at secretariat conference hall on Wednesday.According to highly informed TIWN sources the chief minister expressed displeasure on officials flying to Delhi occasionally funded from state government exchequer, he instructed concerned officials to stop all kind of unnecessary travelling.
He also directed, the chief secretary to assign Tripura Bhawan at Delhi to interact with central officials instead of state officials flying from here.
The 13 finance commission was in effect from 2010 – 11 till 2014 -15 and more ten months remaining; he directed to accelerate all the pending works and submit the utilization certificate to centre for future sanctioning of funds, he said.
In the meeting, chief minister told all department secretaries to personally monitor the progress of work report it to chief secretary every fortnight on basis of the report every month review meeting should be held. The 13 finance commission has sanctioned Rs 1262.99 crores for the state, Rs 721.30 crore was released.
It may be recalled here that, during the tenure of 14th finance commission, Tripura government has demanded Rs. 93,196 crore to meet the non-plan expenditure and carry forward the development activities.
While Rs. 48291 crore has been sought for meeting the non-plan expenditure, Rs. 15,923 crore was demanded for other grants to ADC and other government and semi-government organizations. An amount of Rs. 28,082 crore has been demanded to carry forward the development activities during the period of 14th FC.
