AGARTALA, Oct 5 (TIWN): Whereas Tripura Chief Minister cries for funds from the central govt demanding special category's quota of NE region, but RBI has revealed that Indian Govt spent a huge for Northeast & providing funds to NE states as per its highest capacity, also extending more than the total amount govt receives from the Banks. In a recent report it has been known that large amounts of momentary resources are being earmarked for funding developmental projects in NER. The Present BJP Govt has allocated a total of INR53,706 (USD8.9 billion) for the FY 2014-2015 for the largey underdeveloped regions of North-east India. Moreover, it has been said that most of the Central govt ministries are compulsorily required to earmark 10 percent of their budget for expenditure in the NER. The deputy governor of the Reserved Bank of India has revealed that funds aloocated to the North Eastern Region are higher than the total amount of funds India receives from both the World Bank and Asian Development Banks. But instead of all these, Chief Minister of Tripura asks what the central govt has done for Tripura and other NE states ?

This data about fund is recorded in the memorandum published by Chief Minister himself in FICCI organized Northeast Summit at Pragna Bhawan, named, “Leveraging the digital connect : North Eastern India”.

But in that same summit Chief Minister said Central Govt is exploiting NE, whereas NITI Aayog member Bibek Debroy said on that occasion that every states should soon identify its potentiality as Central Govt. is just helping you.

Every developed states have been upgraded by the state govts by own potentiality. From digital project to railway project in every depts. Govt. is spending a lot but the lameduck CPI-M Govt. instead of utilizing the funds, instead of investing by own govt-------is adopting begging policy of Central funds.

Central gave railway, but nothing yet have been utilized. Tripura’s sole potentiality Bamboo-mission is full of corruptions. In this situation upgrade NE has become a challenge to the Central Govt. doesn’t matter how much it spends on it.
