AGARTAL, Oct 5 (TIWN): The increasing ragging in Tripura Engineering Colleges has hit the Higher Education system once again.

A brutal ragging at Dharmanagar Polytechnic College left a student seriously injured. The student has been identified as Viki Das, S/O-Gouranga Das.

He was beaten by his senior mates so cruelly that he had to admitted at Dharmanagar hospital as serious injuries were found on his body.

But when asked the Principal of Polytechnic College Tritharaj Sen, he strictly declined about any such incident.

The 4rth year student who beat Viki is Shibaji Debbarma, resident of Agartala Krishnanagar. Earlier also ragging charges brought against him when he did ragging with Abhishek Das. That time also he did an affidavit saying that he will not do anymore such activities, but this is the 2nd time he did this, resulting huge resentment among the students.

Presently tension has gripped the Polytechnic College & also the victim family as more clashes may generate among the students in future if strict actions are not taken.

The first year students have demanded for his suspension.

Ragging across Engineering Degree Colleges in Tripura has become a matter of worries to the guardians.
