Tripura to create 384 new jobs in panchayat department

AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN): The Tripura government on Tuesday announced its decision to create 384 new posts in the department of Panchayat. Briefing reporters after a Cabinet meeting at secretariat, Minister of Panchayat and Power Manik Dey said due to bifurcation of districts, blocks and Panchayat there was shortage of staffs, hence the cabinet approved the creation of new posts.

The posts would be filled up on promotional and direct recruitment basis through the Tripura Public Service Commission.

The minister said 30 panchayat officer and 11 panchayat extension will be recruited through TPSC, other posts are of head clerk -15, UDC – 43, LDC- 112, Bengali translator -49, Computer duplicator -1,supervisor -44, auditor 25, group D- 36 and sweeper- 18. Besides, four panchayat resource person will be recruited for panchayat training institute at Ambassa. The state is expected to have a large number of untrained women representatives due to the 50 percent reservation for female candidates in the panchayat polls all four would be filled up on direct recruitment basis through the TPSC.The minister informed that the training institute would be inaugurated end of July. The institute would accommodate newly elected public representatives in the three-tier panchayat.

The cabinet also approved the creation of three more district transport office at Teliamura for Khowai district, Bisramganj for Sephahijala district and Santirbazaar for South Tripura. The minister stated the government decided to have transport office seeing the increase of motor vehicles.
