AGARTALA, May 26 (TIWN): From erecting LED screens to distributing sweets, BJP workers in the state capital on Monday celebrated Narendra Modi's swearing in-ceremony like Diwali festival. As President Pranab Mukherjee administered oath to Modi, the Tripura BJP unit celebrated his swearing-in ceremony by distributing sweets, illuminating streets and bursting firecrackers across the city

All district units of the party organized a public-gathering programme in their respective areas where they installed LED screens for the live telecast of Modi's swearing-in ceremony. "I am ecstatic to be here on such an important occasion. Today is a memorable day. Narendra Modi is our leader and he will take India to new heights,” said Brajesh Chakraborty former BJP state unit president.

"Modi's swearing-in ceremony is like Diwali celebration for BJP workers as well as common people as with taking charge of PM office, good days are about to come," Tripura BJP's spokesperson Pulak Debnath said.

BJP supporters also hoisted party flags on top of their houses and also burst firecrackers in their respective areas.  "Everyone is in such a celebratory mood. The people are excited and the energy here is electric. Modi promises to be the panacea for the problems which have plagued the nation since the last few years," Ranjana Sharma a BJP worker said.

It’s worth mentioning here that for the first time state unit BJP secured around 5 percent vote compared to 1 percent vote at previous Lok Sabha election. In three assembly constituency BJP secured second place. According to BJP leaders, after Modi’s landslide victory each day more and more people are joining the party.
