UDAIPUR, MAY 25(TIWN) : A newly born boy,aged one week, was found in the veranda of the Office of the Superintendent of District Sales Tax, Gomati District Office Complex. The office is located in Dak Banglow Road area, a posh area where DM,SP Gomati SDM SDPO Udaipur and other important officials live in.

The incident took place at around 8.30pm on Sunday. At around 8 in the evening the local people heard a the sound of a baby crying. Amidst rain they came out of their houses and saw an auto rickshaw standing in the veranda of the office. When they came near they found the baby crying. At once the local people informed the R.K.Pur Police Station.

    At 8.30pm police took the baby to the Tripura Sundari District Hospital, where the doctor treated the baby and sent it to Shishu Griha an NGO to look after orphaned children. Dr Abhijit Datta, the Child Specialist, told to TIWN over phone that it seemed that the baby has been born in one week's time. And though it has been sent to Shishu Griha, according to the authorities of the Shishu Griha, it is crying severely.

     Meanwhile, the local people and some businessmen in the Hospital Road area told TIWN correspondent at night that at around 6.30pm they found a poor woman with torn clothes feeding her baby with breast milk. It is assumed that taking the advantage of rain and darkness the woman might have left the baby in the auto rickshaw and escaped from the place of occurance.
