KAMALPUR, Oct 1 (TIWN): The preparations for ensuing grand festivity of Durga Puja find it hard to crack the nut of price hike in the sub-division. The puja organizers find it hard to cope with the ever increasing price hike and to maintain the tradition of festivity up to the mark. As a result, the festivity would experience no major shift in the decorations, lighting or the styles of the idols

Kamalpur has remained long been deprived in the case of economical advancement for its border-adjacent position. Moreover, the setting up of the Dhalai district headquarters at Ambassa also hit the sub-division severely.

In this context, the main source of the economic activities of the organizers depends on the limited numbers of government employees and traders. But, in recent years, the traders experience a jolt in their trade.

Here, trade and huge profits remain limited during the festive season. But, at present many customers use to go to Agartala to fulfil their festive demands and they easily do so with a cheaper rate.

Moreover, the recent trend of online marketing also becomes a competitor for the local traders. In this context, the traders cannot enjoy the trading benefit of the festive seasons.

Hence, the organizers have the limited source for fulfilling their plans and programs. But, to keep pace with the recent time, they have to arrange uniqueness in their celebrations.

Most of the organizers express that, they find it really hard to cope with the pace of price hike. As a result, the decorations, lighting, idols, social activities have to be curtailed to some extent. Still, they express hope that, the tradition of hearty celebration through the mass participation would remain intact this year too.
