KAMALPUR, Sep 30 (TIWN): The grand great festivity of Durga Puja remains knocking at the door. Hence the maintaining of peace and law and order become one of the prime aims for the police. And in this context, the police have strengthened its vigil throughout the state.

In this sub-division too, the police has strengthen its vigil against the drunkards and gamblers. Moreover, the law and order situation has been taken under strict observation. But amidst all these hurly-burly, the role of a cop and its too with the indirect backing of the top cops of the police station remained unrestrained.

For years, a cop who remains under an information branch continues his role of extortionist. He continues to collect ransom from different illegal traders and anti-social elements on the monthly basis.

In return, he informs them in advance before any raid. Hence, the kingpins of the crime world and anti-social arena remain out of the reach of police. Interestingly, he continues his works not for his self interest only.

Rather, the top cops restore the duty of collecting ransom on him. And he happily performs his duty as the indirect and secret support of the cops remains with him.

As a result, though some illegal traders with minimum quantity of illegal items get nabbed by police now and then, the real goons remain out of reach. And they often claim that, they have made a pact with the police against monthly ransom for their safety and security.

In this context, the will of police comes under scanner. And it becomes evident that, during the Puja days Kamalpur will remain peaceful according to its tradition and aware citizens. Police has really nothing to do with the business.
