AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): District Magistrate and Collector Abhishek Singh have directed the officers that they should complete the developmental works within the stipulated time frame work. He was addressing the review meeting of the developmental work in the west district on Saturday. Additional DM U. K Chakma, BDOs of nine blocks of the district and senior officials were present in the meeting.
He will visit the administrative divisions and monitor the pace of the developmental works and can also undertake field inspections. Therefore, all the administrative officers should go into the field and take steps for completing the developmental works in their respective areas.
During the review meeting, it was informed that 8 hamlets at Hezamara and 1 hamlet have no permanent water source. Alternative arrangements are made for supply of water, DM told the concerned officials to find sources of water.
DM laid stress on speedy completion of contract roads with villages. When sought reason, authorities of Public Works department said that due to current rainy season, work of layering of road has not been done. However, the officers assured that the work of construction of the contact roads in all the villages will be completed soon.
Besides stress was also laid on renovation and creation of ponds should also be done with much acceleration in the village’s .Further, saplings should also be planted around the ponds.
He took stock of projects like Village Development Scheme, MGNREGA, PMGSY and the sanitation and drinking water schemes, besides ordering health check-up at primary schools, officials said. He further directed for speedy completion of pending work on various projects and warned that any laxity on part of officials will not be tolerated.
