AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): The ongoing corruption under Pradhan Mantri Awash Yojna PMAY has gripped Tripura before it started to function fully. Although the project is yet to start in Urban areas, but names of the beneficiaries have already gathered by CPI-M Party machineries in urban bodies.

In total 42,896 poor families living under urban area have been selected to provide house under this mentioned scheme. But the selection process has been accomplished by CPI-M cadres to reap political mileage before the Assembly Election to be held on 2018. .

The guidelines set by the Ministry was not at all followed by the ruling govt in Tripura neither the real deprivers are going to be benefited with that project. State BJP claims the 60 % of the name submitted in the beneficiary list are fake.

It’s worthy to mention here that after massive scams in almost all the centrally sponsored schemes in Tripura, Manik Sarkar led CPI-M Govt involved in gross irregularities with the PM Modi's dream project of 'Housing For All By 2022' under Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.

The mission seeks to address the housing requirement of urban poor including slum dwellers through following programme verticals:

• Slum rehabilitation of Slum Dwellers with participation of private developers using land as a resource

• Promotion of Affordable Housing for weaker section through credit linked subsidy

• Affordable Housing in Partnership with Public & Private sectors

• Subsidy for beneficiary-led individual house construction /enhancement.

Without making the common people aware about the scheme beneficiaries were selected as per wish of the CPI-M cadres. On 17th June 2015 the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave its approval for the launch of “Housing for All by 2022”—but alas ! in such a corrupted state the scheme  is not utilizing in fair manner as the govt. is silent against such issues.
