AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): Now, the Tripura Tribal Non-Aligned Employees’ Association raised voice against the state government apathy towards the employees in general. In a letter addressed to Prime Minister designated Narendra Modi, the employees’ body said Tribal Non-Aligned Employees are getting 50 percent salary in comparison with not only Indian states but also neighbouring NE state. “All the NE states except Tripura are dominated by tribals and they are getting equal pay for equal work as per federal structure of India. So far as our understanding regarding federal structure- The constitution of India is federal in nature.

 Each state and each UT of India have their own government. System of government in which several states from a unity not excepting Tripura, So, the state government employees of the state irrespective the question of tribal and non-tribal employees entitled to get similar pay like other state government employees of other states”, said an office bearer of the Association.

He further said state government employees are getting half salary in comparison with any Indian state for not implementing the recommendations of sixth Pay Commission. The Account General, Tripura indicated that unspent fund kept more than 90 days.

In the letter, the Association mentioned the CPM is a cadre based party and the party runs the government. “ They don’t want government employees to get higher salary creating disparity to their cadres to whom they are paying Rs. 15,000 or Rs. 20,000 per month. They fear increase in salary of government employees may jeopardize their future or prospect”, he said.

In the letter, he urged the PM designated to look into the matter and ensure giving due to the deprived employees so that they could live with dignity.
