KAMALPUR, Sep 21 (TIWN): After a long pause, Congress stirred the road here at Kamalpur in a seat and demonstration program to fulfil 16 point charter of demands.

Interestingly, within a span of 24 hours after the same program by TMC at the same place, Congress gathered much people and virtually surpassed TMC here.

Congress gave deputation to the SDM for fulfilling some demands of the state and for betterment of Kamalpur. Congress demanded to unveil the real saga behind the chit fund scam and to punish the godfathers stringently; to implement unemployment wages until the employment could be provided; to prepare the beneficiary list of IAY and other schemes without party involvements; to control the price hike; to link Kamalpur with the railway network; to set up a central school at Kamalpur; to set up a cold storage; to ensure water supply twice daily at Kamalpur and to open a gas agency and petrol pump at Kamalpur.

In the seat and demonstration, former MLA Manoj kanti Deb, Advocate Bijoy Krishna Chatterjee and others delivered speech.

It might be mentioned here that, during his tenure at the Assembly, Manoj kanti Deb struggled hard for attaining the demands for betterment of Kamalpur time and again.

But, mysteriously, other political parties including CPI-M never found keen to speak on those issues. And Kamalpur continued to into the den of backwardness.
