AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): Tripura Manik Sarkar aiming to highlight Tripura Women’s condition, recently claimed that Tripura must be at top in Woman Literacy rate across the Country, but once again CM’s claim has been proven as wrong with 2 rapes held at South Tripura within 24 hours. More shockingly FIR has been lodged against a father for regularly raping his own daughter on Tuesday.

Talking to newly joined SP South Tapan Debbarma, he said, “Father has allegedly raped his own daughter & yesterday a minor was raped. However, police has arrested both of the accused. Inquiry is going on properly”, said Tapan Debbarma.

SI of Belonia Women Police Swapna Bhowmik Station told TIWN that Tuesday’s rape accused is a father name Jouban Sen Tripura, resident of Maniram Bari,  Buddhi Para area, who has been beaten by locals & then the locals nabbed him to police. She also said, as per the allegation, the victim used to live with her father & her mother stayed separately. However, during Viswakarma Puja, she went to visit her mother & told everything to her. The girl is presently undergoing heavy mental pressure as her father has been raping her brutally since years.

Her mother took the issue to locals &  the vexed locals had tightly beaten Jouvan Tripura & handed him to police.

TIWN asked the newly joined SP why since one year such incidents are increasing, he said, ‘We are doing inquiry against every issues & no one will be pardoned’.

On Monday evening, a minor girl was allegedly raped by Subrata Pal, S/O- S R Paul, informed Belonia Women Police Station. Belonia Police further informed that the incident took place at Puran Matai area & FIR was lodged against him. However, police has arrested the culprit.

But in the Digital India Era, surprisingly, no land number is working in Women Police station at Belonia, whereas from internet a mobile number was anyhow collected. But due the faulty mobile, nothing can be clearly understood by this phone. Question arises, when the state administration will take the security issue seriously? The only women police station in Belonia has no proper communication setup, which is a typical example of Manik sarkar’s Golden Era.

 State Tripura which has become the den for mafias, rapists—the women here are facing hard-times in regard of law and order situation inside state. Who can forget about the tribal woman , who was raped  in a moving bus at Belonia on July 1st week, Radhanagar area under PR Bari police station.

Thus although in World literacy Day, CM talked about highest Women Education in state, but in reality women are most unsafe in his state. 

 Tripura ranked 4th in ‘Crime Against Women’, according to the recent report given by NBRC. Rating the state with 88 % crimes, the NBRC report further said that, among the north eastern states Tripura stands second, whereas Assam tops the list in the NE states with 19139 registered cases.
