AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): In yet another shocking development it has been unearthed that Tripura Forest Dept. Under lameduck Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia Forest Dept. has recorded with atleast 871 cases, where Govt. officials had embezzled huge amount of funds. Among them, only 71 have been taken under court case, whereas 287 cases lying pending.

In Forest Dept. Official website anyone can see that it’s clearly written with the heading of “Position of OR drawn and adjudicated departmentally during 2015-16”...... that in the year 2015-16,the total OR drawn was—871, the Adjudicated department tally---513 cases, Court Case--- 71, OR drawn but case lying pen ding 287 number of cases.

This  is an example how Tripura’s departments are looting the Central funds under Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s Golden Era.

The present Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia who himself occupying huge property of Rubber-Gardens, is one of the most corrupted ministers & he was called in Guwahati Tax Dept. office just before 2 months for property-hiding. 

In the month of March, 2016 Tripura Govt. presented a Rs.15, 246.52 crore tax-free budget for 2016-17 with a deficit of Rs.1, 88.54 crore. But Govt. had claimed high about Bamboo production and a huge number of Bamboo cultivation.

Govt. stresses to increase the bamboo production and boost the bamboo based industries in this running year and also will introduce the Chinese moso bamboo and develop the mechanized system of bamboo plantation to increase its productivity.

But surprisingly, the  Chinese Bamboo production is a matter of far way. The locally available bamboos are on the verge of extinction in Tripura. The inclusion of Bamboo cultivation in State Budget is for name-sake.

Such cases however, very common for forest dept. In Tripura as just before a month 3 Forest  officials’ names disclosed after they consumed huge amounts of central fund under “Jetropha-Plantation” scheme.

Yearwide massive theft of Forest properly are reported via medias. Few forest officers also caught many smugglers on the spot, but Tripura forest dept. where a single Financial year can record 871 cases for extra fund withdrawal, there few honest officials can’t do anything, especially when the Forest Minister on  top is so much corrupted.
